 BIG Y SCHOLARSHIP
In tribute to both its employees and its customers, Big Y offers an annual Big Y Scholarship Program.  Established in 1984, the program includes a series of scholarships that honor the late Paul H. and Gerald E. D’Amour, brothers who founded Big Y in 1936.  Big Y awards over 300 scholarships each year totaling more than $250,000.  All Big Y scholarships recognize academic merit and achievement.  To be eligible, a student’s permanent residence or school must be located within Massachusetts or Connecticut.  All Big Y customers and their dependents and Big Y employees and their dependents are eligible.  For more information please stop by the Guidance Office or visit www.bigy.com.  All applications, together with the required supporting documents, must be mailed and postmarked no later than February 1, 2018.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP
For more than four decades, the Boston University Trustee Scholars Program has attracted students from around the world with outstanding academic ability and the potential to inspire fellow students to excel.   Each year Boston University welcomes 25 new Trustee Scholars to their campus.  Information for this scholarship can be found in the Guidance Department or online @ bu.edu/admissions/trustee.  Students must submit their application for admission and two Trustee Scholarship essays by December 1, 2017.  EXPIRED


THE 2018 PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards helps us recognize outstanding young students from our school who actively participate in volunteering, to draw attention to their good work.  Each year the Prudential Spirit Community recognizes students in grades 5-12 who make meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service.  Information is available in the Guidance Office or at nassp.org/spirit.  Completed application and student/parent agreement must be submitted by Novemer 7, 2017.  EXPIRED

THE HORATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIP
If integrity, determination and courage describe you – you have what it takes to be a Horatio Alger Scholar.  This scholarship rewards students who possess the character to succeed in life.  This award helps students to overcome the financial barriers of pursuing a higher education.  To qualify, you must have at least a 2.0 GPA and require financial assistance to attend college.  To learn more and apply, visit scholars.horatioalgers.org or the Guidance Office.  Application deadline is October 25, 2017.   EXPIRED

WENDY’S HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN SCHOLARSHIP
Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship supports education, recognizes achievement, and celebrates standout high school student-athletes and around the country.  Seniors, if you strive for excellence in the classroom, on the playing field, and in your community, now’s the time to get the recognition you deserve.   Apply today for your chance to earn up to a $10k scholarship.  Information is available on line @ WintheWendysHeisman.com or in the Guidance Office.  Deadline is October 2, 2017.  EXPIRED

THE STEPHEN PHILLIPS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Stephen Phillips Scholarship Fund offers renewable, 4-year scholarships to students from New England with financial need.  Successful candidates are those who display academic achievement, service to others, good character, leadership qualities, and willingness to work to contribute to college, personal and/or family expenses.  We also value demonstrated grit and resiliency in students who have faced significant challenges.  Applications can be found online at www.phillips-scholarship.org or in the Guidance Office.  Early response deadline is April 3, 2018, and regular deadline is May 1, 2018.

ACT STUDENT CHAMPION AWARD
Applications are now open for the ACT Student Champion Award!  The ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place.    ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque, and state-level recognition.  Applications and information can be found at www.act.org/readinesschampions or in the Guidance Office.  Applications are due on December 31, 2017 and the champions will be notified on or before April 2, 2018.

ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Elks National Foundation Scholarship application is now available online at www.studentscholarships.org/scholarship/9716/elks.  Any student who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.  Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.  Scholarship value is $50,000 and 500 awards will be available to students.  Deadline is November 30, 2017.   EXPIRED

HENRY DAVID THOREAU SCHOLARSHIP
Win up to a $20,000 tuition scholarship for Environmental Studies.  This scholarship will be awarded to outstanding Massachusetts High School Seniors who are ready to meet the challenges of the ever-evolving, interdisciplinary field of environmental studies.   The Thoreau Foundation supports academically successful undergraduates through tuition scholarships to prepare them for environmental leadership.  Information is available in the Guidance Office or online at www.thoreauscholar.org.  Deadline is February 1, 2018.

THE AMERICAN LEGION HIGH SCHOOL ORATORICAL SCHOLARSHIP
The purpose of the Legion’s Oratorical Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the United States Constitution on the part of high school students.  Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties, responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be completed and mailed by December 31, 2017.  EXPIRED




THE THREE COUNTY FAIR SCHOLARSHIP 
The Three County Fair Scholarship is awarded to students who have had previous exhibiting experience at the Three County Fair or other fairs around our area.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline is April 15, 2018.

MASSACHUSETTS AFL-CIO ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM
Applications are now available in the Guidance Office to all graduating seniors throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who are seeking higher education.  The scholarships that are available will total over half a million dollars,  The scholarship exam will consist of 30 multiple choice questions and one essay question with a response of 250-500 words.  The test will be administered on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.  Students interested in taking the labor history exam will need to submit their application to the Guidance Department by Friday, December 15, 2017.  EXPIRED

THE HORACE SMITH FUND – WALTER S. BARR SCHOLARSHIP
These awards for undergraduate education are made annually to graduating high school seniors.  They must be residents attending public or private secondary schools in Hampden County.  The awards are given based on school records, college entrance examinations, general accomplishments, recommendations and financial need.  The annual award is $2,500 for a maximum of four years.  Applications are now available in the Guidance Office or online at www.HoraceSmithFund.org. The deadline for filing applications is March 1, 2018.

THE HORCE SMITH FUND – WALTER S. BARR SCHOLARSHIP COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
Often times, second and third year undergraduate students require more financial assistance than first year students.  These awards are made to students currently attending college that wish to continue their studies.  They must be residents that graduated from public or private secondary schools in Hampden County, Massachusetts.  The awards are given based on school records, college entrance examinations, general accomplishments, recommendations and financial need.  The annual award is $2,500 for a maximum of four years. Applications are available in the Guidance Office or online at www.HoraceSmithFund.org.  The deadline for filing applications is March 1, 2018.

THE HORACE SMITH FUND – WALTER S. BARR FELLOWSHIPS
These awards are made annually to those wishing to enroll in full time graduate studies.  In general, applicants must be residents of Hampden County.  If residency is in question, the Fellowship Committee reserves the right to make this decision.  Awards are made to students pursuing a specific post-graduate degree. If that degree program requires more than one year of full time study and is warranted, the award can be renewed for as many as two additional years.  Awards will be made on the basis of all available information, including school records, recommendations and examination scores.  Consideration will be given to both the merit and financial need of the applicant.  The annual award is $4,000 for a maximum of three years.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office or online at www.HoraceSmithFund.org.  The deadline for filing applications is March 1, 2018.

THE HORACE SMITH FUND – WALTER S. BARR SCHOLARSHIP – WILLIAM R. ROONEY AWARD
This award offers financial assistance to students with special needs.  One scholarship per academic year is offered to a graduating high school senior who is currently on and has been on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Accommodation Plan for a minimum of two years.  The student must be a resident of Hampden County, enrolled in an eligible high  school, and anticipate on attending either a two or four-year accredited college.  The award is given based on school records, college entrance examinations, general accomplishments, recommendations and financial needs.  The annual award is $2,500 for a maximum of four years.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office or online at www.HoraceSmithFund.org.  The deadline for filing applications is March 1, 2018.

ASSUMPTION COLLEGE – LIGHT THE WAY SCHOLARSHIP
Each year Assumption College awards up to 50, $25,000 scholarships that are renewable all four years. Whether it’s community service to help people in need, innovation to improve society, or volunteering to heal our planet, this scholarship recognizes and supports students who positively impact the world in their own meaningful way.  to Assumption.  For more information please stop by the Guidance Office or information is also available online at www.assumption.edu/lighttheway.  Students must apply for admission to Assumption College and complete the scholarship application by Friday, December 15, 2017.  EXPIRED

GRAND LODGE OF MASSACHUSETTS ORDER SONS OF ITALY IN AMERICAN
An invitation is being extended to members of the Senior Class to participate in the 2018 Scholarship Award Program sponsored by the Charitable and Education Trust of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Order of the Sons of Italy in America.  A minimum of twenty scholarships at a maximum of $1,000.00 each will be awarded.  It is important to note that while some of these scholarships are reserved for the children and grandchildren of our members, there are a number of scholarships available regardless of affiliation with the Order Sons of Italy in America and as such, we encourage all of your students to apply.  All paperwork must be submitted in one envelope and postmarked no later than February 1, 2018.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office and online at www.osiama.org.

THE NAVY ROTC SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will provide full tuition and fees at 159 of our nation’s most elite and prestigious college and universities.  Requirements include high school graduation or equivalency certificate by August 1 of year of entrance into four-year Navy ROTC Scholarship program.    We strongly suggest you work with your coordinator/recruiter and have them thoroughly review your application before you process it.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office or online at www.nrotc.navy.mil/scholarship. 


2018 CHRISTIAN A. HERTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Since 1972, The Christian A. Herter Memorial Scholarship has assisted Massachusetts students with their higher education costs.  Each year, twenty-five students are selected as Herter Scholarship Recipients.    The special role of the Herter Scholarship, as an early identification program, is to recruit high school sophomores and juniors whose socio-economic backgrounds and environmental conditions may inhibit their ability to persevere and attain their educational goals.  Educators, including high school principals and counselors are invited to submit nominations (no more than two per school or agency) for this very competitive scholarship. This application is for sophomores and juniors only.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office or online at www.mass.edu/herter.  Deadline for this scholarship is February 2, 2018

ELMS COLLEGE & raise.me SCHOLARSHIP
You can now earn scholarships from Elms College on Raise.me.  Earn scholarships for your academic and extracurricular achievements beginning in ninth grade.  Ways that you can earn; take the PSAT or ACT Plan Tests, visit the Elms College Campus, volunteer in your community, maintain a high GPA.  This new scholarship program is designed to give incentive to students by showing them how these achievements will earn them scholarships towards college.  Information for this program is available in the Guidance Office or online at www.raise.me/join/elms-college. 

REBEKAH ASSEMBLY OF MASSACHUSETTS
The Rebekah Assembly of Massachusetts, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, offer will offer a scholarship in the amount of $500 to qualified seniors who plan to further their education by attending a two or four-year college program.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  All requirements must be met in order for an application to be considered.  This scholarship requires a personal statement explaining the student’s goals and financial need.  Application deadline is March 15, 2018.

NAAAP BOSTON FUTURE LEADER AWARD SCHOLARSHIP 2018
The National Association of Asian American Professionals  - Boston (NAAAP Boston) 2018 Future Leader Award Scholarship is now available in the Guidance Office.  This scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates leadership qualities inside and outside of the classroom.  Eligibility requires the student to be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity. The deadline for this scholarship application is Saturday, February 17, 2018.

RED PINE SCHOLARSHIP
The Red Pine Scholarship Program is seeking students from low- to middle-income families in Massachusetts who have demonstrated academic excellence and are planning to attend competitive colleges as freshmen in the fall of 2018.  This program is designed to support students through tuition assistance, mentoring, and other flexible financial supports.  The Red Pine Scholarship program is dedicated to making college affordable for Massachusetts families and helping students to reach their full potential.   For more information, visit the Guidance Office or the application can be found online @http://www.tpi.org/scholarship/red-pine-scholars-program.  Applications must be completed by February 15, 2018.

YAWKEY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The Yawkey Scholars Program provides an opportunity of financial assistance for graduating high school students entering private, competitive colleges in Massachusetts in the fall of 2018.  This program is designed to make college affordable for talented, motivated, low-income students from Massachusetts.  It provides a four-year renewable tuition scholarship and other supports to help students achieve academically and go on to become successful and highly productive members of our community.  Over the past twelve years, the Yawkey Scholars Program has provided $10 million in tuition supports to 298 Scholars as they pursue a college education.  Applications will be processed online – hard copies will not be accepted.  For more information please visit the Guidance Office or go to: http://www.tpi.org/scholarship/yawkey-scholars-program.  Applications must be completed online by February 15, 2018 at 12:00 noon.

2018 KPMG FUTURE LEADERS PROGRAM
KMPG is deeply committed to the advancement, development and empowerment of women.  Supporting this commitment, in 2015 KPMG, in collaboration with the PGA of America, the LPGA, and NBC, hosted the first ever KOPMG Women’s PGA Championship, to elevate the game of women’s golf, and the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, to help advance the next generation of women leaders to senior leadership position in business.  The KPMG Future Leaders Program will foster a strong foundation for young women to succeed in college and ultimately in their long-term careers.  Application deadline is January 31, 2018.  Information for this scholarship is available in the Guidance Office.

CSF WESTFIELD DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS
The Westfield Community through Citizens Scholarship Foundation Westfield Dollars for Scholars has been helping resident Westfield students achieve their dreams of undergraduate higher education since 1962.  In over five decades, through the generosity of countless citizens and organizations of Westfield and beyond, and through the efforts of our volunteers, CSF Westfield has distributed close to three million dollars to almost six thousand Westfield Students.  The application process must be done online.  By applying for this scholarship you not only will find and apply for the CSF Westfield Scholarship but you will also discover scholarships from across the Scholarship America network for which you may be eligible.  Information is available in the Guidance Office or online @ https://csfwestfield.dollarsforscholars.org.  Deadline for this scholarship is March 18, 2018.

THE COLLEGE CLUB OF SPRINGFIELD
Each year the College Club of Springfield awards a scholarship to a young woman accepted by any four-year college recognized by the American Association of University Women.  This grant of $2,500 is renewable each year for a total of $10,000 over four years subject to the student’s satisfactory grades.  In addition, a non-renewable book award of $500 is given to two eligible applicants.  Scholarship recipients are chosen for their need, scholarship, leadership and integrity.  Eligibility is limited to young women raking in the upper fifth of their class in public schools in the Greater Springfield area and whose family’s income does not exceed $100,000.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline for applications is February 23, 2018.

MARK BAVIS LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION
The family and friends of Mark Bavis have established a foundation in Mark’s name to preserve his memory and to perpetuate the principles by which he lived every day and through which he touched the lives of many. Mark’s work ethic helped him accomplish so much in such a short time.  September 11, 2001 changed his family’s lives forever.  They wanted to create something good and lasting out of this tragedy.  They are confident that Mark’s spirit will endure and continue to enrich the lives of many. Mark’s foundation has been set up to provide selected recipients with annual grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to be used for furthering their education.  Any high school student in the Commonwealth Of Massachusetts is eligible.  The scholarship is not academically based, but is awarded on the basis of need.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline is March 15, 2018.

CHICOPEE SAVINGS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION 2018 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Chicopee Savings Bank Charitable Foundation will be awarding 11 awards of $3,000 to local high school graduating seniors.  All applicants must be a graduating senior, must have a GPA of 3.0 and must demonstrate a strong academic standing and financial need.  Additionally, volunteer performance in the community, participation in school activities, athletics and other activities are taken into consideration.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be returned to the Guidance Office by April 16, 2018.  Only 5 applications can be submitted from each participating school.  Therefore, the sooner it is submitted the better, prior to April 16.

MASSACHUSETTS CREDIT UNIONS PIONEER VALLEY CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Pioneer Valley Chapter’s Scholarship Committee will be awarding six $2,000 Chapter Scholarships and one $1,500 Cooperative Credit Union League Scholarship.  Eligibility is limited to high school seniors who will be enrolled in an undergraduate college degree program during the 2018-2019 academic years.  Applicant or patent/guardian must be a member of Holyoke Credit Union.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline is Friday, March 16, 2018.

HOLYOKE CREDIT UNION 2018 CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Holyoke Credit Union College Scholarship Program will be awarding three $500 college scholarships this year.  Eligibility is open to high school seniors who will be enrolled in an undergraduate college degree program during the 2018-2019 academic year.  Applicant or parent/guardian must be a member of the Holyoke Credit Union.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applicants must submit completed applications to the Credit Union no later than Friday, April 20, 2018.
